Frequently asked questions

What is CueBot?
CueBot watches the news for you. You describe an event in one sentence, it works out where that event would be reported, checks those sources on a schedule, and alerts you when the event actually happens.
How is it different from keyword alerts?
Keyword alerts send you every article that contains the words. CueBot uses the words only to find candidates, then has an AI model read each one against your description and decide whether it reports the event itself. An article that merely mentions your topic is not an alert.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. Type what you want to watch on the home page and CueBot sets it up straight away as a guest. Matches are collected from the start, but nothing can be sent to you until you sign up, which keeps the watch and everything it has found.
How often does it check?
Every hour on the Free plan, every 30 minutes on Starter and every 15 minutes on Pro. It is built for things that matter within the hour, not within the second.
Which sources does it read?
Publicly available news sites and feeds. When you create a watch, CueBot proposes the sources that cover your topic and fetches every one of them before using it. You can remove any of them and add your own by pasting the address of a feed or news page. On Starter and Pro, topics that few feeds cover can also use AI search.
Does it read social media or paywalled articles?
No. It does not monitor X, Reddit or other social networks, and it cannot read content behind a paywall.
What languages does it support?
The app is in English, but sources can be in other languages. A watch on a Turkish topic, for example, can follow Turkish and English outlets.
Where do alerts arrive?
By email on every plan. Pro adds Telegram, WhatsApp and webhooks.
How do I get alerts on Telegram or WhatsApp?
On the Pro plan, open Settings → Channels. For Telegram, press Link Telegram and send the one-time code to @livecuebot as /start followed by the code. For WhatsApp, add your number with its country code and press Send test. Then open a watch and switch the channel on under Notifications. Email keeps arriving either way. Step by step: alerts on Telegram and WhatsApp.
What does an alert contain?
The headline, the source, when it was published, a link to the article, and a short explanation of why it matched your watch.
What happens after a match?
You choose per watch: keep reporting follow-up news on the topic, or pause after the first match. Pausing suits one-off events such as a release date or a court ruling.
What if nothing happens?
Then you hear nothing, which is the point. Your watch list shows a heartbeat of recent checks, so you can see a quiet watch is working. Before you start a watch, the review screen shows what it would have caught over the last week, so you know in advance whether it is set up well.
What if it sends something I did not want?
Mark the alert as not useful, and tighten the watch: raise its sensitivity from broad to balanced or strict, or add words it should never be about. Your feedback is what matching is tuned against.
Can I change a watch after starting it?
Yes. Terms, exclusions, sources and sensitivity can all be edited while the watch runs, and you can pause it at any time. Every change to the plan is kept as a version, so you can go back.
How much does it cost?
Free: 3 watches, hourly checks, email alerts, no card required. Starter: €5 a month for 10 watches, checks every 30 minutes, AI search and a year of alert history. Pro: €12 a month for 40 watches, checks every 15 minutes, Telegram, WhatsApp and webhooks, and unlimited history.
Can I cancel a paid plan?
Yes, at any time from your account settings. Payments are handled by Stripe.
Who can use CueBot?
Anyone aged 16 or over.
What do you do with my data?
CueBot keeps what it needs to run your watches and send your alerts, uses no advertising or tracking cookies, and does not sell your data. The details are in the privacy policy and the cookie notice.
