Get alerts on Telegram or WhatsApp
Every alert goes to your email. On the Pro plan it can also reach you on Telegram or WhatsApp — set up once in Settings → Channels, then switched on for the watches you want. Email keeps arriving either way, so a channel that stops working never means a missed alert.
Telegram
- In CueBot, open Settings → Channels and press Link Telegram. You get a one-time code, valid for 15 minutes.
- If a link is shown, tap it: Telegram opens the CueBot bot with the code filled in, and you press Start.
- Otherwise, open Telegram, search for @livecuebot and send it
/startfollowed by your code, exactly as shown — it is case-sensitive. For example/start aZ3k9Qx7. - The bot replies “CueBot linked.” Back in CueBot the Telegram card now says Linked. Press Send test to see what an alert looks like in the chat.
- Switch it on per watch — see below.
If the code has expired, press Link Telegram again for a new one. If you later block the bot, CueBot notices, marks Telegram as Stopped and carries on by email; link it again to restore it.
- Open Settings → Channels and, in the WhatsApp card, enter your number in international format with the country code — for example
+905321234567or+447700900123— and press Add. - Press Send test. A test alert arrives in WhatsApp from CueBot’s business account, and the card changes to Linked: the number is verified by that message actually arriving.
- Switch it on per watch — see below.
No test message? Check the number has WhatsApp installed and that the country code is right, then remove it and add it again. If messages later stop being delivered, CueBot marks WhatsApp as Stopped and carries on by email.
Switch a channel on for a watch
Linking a channel does not send anything to it yet — you choose which watches use it. Open a watch, find Notifications, and press the channel to turn it from off to on. Your watch list shows the channels each watch uses under its name.
In the same section you can change the Telegram message: the text is a template with fields such as {{title}}, {{source}}, {{url}} and {{why}}, with a preview before you save. WhatsApp messages use a fixed format that WhatsApp has approved — “New alert for [your watch]: [headline]” with an Open the article button — so they cannot be edited.
Not on Pro?
Free and Starter deliver by email only, and the Telegram and WhatsApp cards do not appear in settings. You can upgrade from Settings → Billing; see the FAQ for what each plan includes.
Pro also offers a webhook: a signed JSON alert sent to an address of your own, for wiring CueBot into other tools. It is set up in the same Channels page.
Try it with your own topic — no account needed to start.
